    About the Role:

    We’re excited to hire our first in-house recruiter who will also assist with people operations. This is a unique opportunity to help build Gentrace’s recruiting engine from the ground up while shaping the culture of a rapidly growing startup. You’ll work directly with our founders to define hiring practices, attract top talent, and foster an amazing employee experience.

    This is a hybrid role based in San Francisco, with office days on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at 604 Mission St.

    What You’ll Do:

    • Build from Scratch: Establish recruiting and people practices, developing efficient processes for attracting and retaining talent.
    • Operationalize Processes: Leverage your broad experience with different ATS tools and processes to build the right recruiting foundations for Gentrace, streamlining our recruitment process.
    • Talent Acquisition: Successfully place approximately 1 high-quality candidate per month across various roles, ensuring alignment with our culture and goals.
    • Collaborate with Leadership: Partner with founders to define, develop, and evangelize Gentrace’s culture throughout the organization.
    • Candidate Experience: Drive an exceptional candidate experience from sourcing to offer acceptance.
    • People Operations: Assist with people-related responsibilities, ensuring employee engagement, onboarding, and HR support as we scale.

    Who You Are:

    • Experienced Recruiter: Established track record of successfully hiring a high volume of high-quality candidates, primarily senior / staff engineering. Have prior experience as the first or second in-house recruiter at a fast-paced Series Seed - B startup. You ideally have had 5-10 years of experience.
    • Startup-Ready: You’re familiar with the unique challenges of a high-growth startup and have built recruiting functions from the ground up.
    • Flexible and Scrappy: While systems-minded, you will find ways to leverage different processes to hire effectively - you aren't stuck to just one ATS or way of doing things. You are willing to learn and iterate on what works best. You evaluate, implement, and optimize your process to improve recruiting efficiency.
    • Cultural Ambassador: You care deeply about creating and maintaining a positive, engaging work culture.
    • Proven Track Record: Strong references from founders or leadership teams you’ve worked with before.

    Our customers range from Faire , Quizlet , Webflow, Jasper, Limitless and more, to the Fortune 5.

    We work hybrid in-person in San Francisco x NYC.
